Dear Parents/Guardians,
I am very pleased to have the opportunity to teach mathematics to your children. As a parent with school age children of my own, I know how important it is to you that your children receive the best educational experience possible. One way to enhance this educational experience is to keep the lines of communication open between teachers and families, and to communicate early and often. By creating and maintaining a strong partnership, we can create a strong educational support system for your children. Numerous studies have shown that familial involvement in a student’s education can have a positive outcome on his or her academic performance. I realize that not everyone is comfortable with mathematics- the good news is that you don't need to be a math whiz to help your child become a successful math student. There are many ways to help your child be a successful learner- some of the ways you can do this are to discuss daily homework assignments, visit the classroom, or inquire about what he or she did in math class. You will also find helpful information and resources in the following locations on this website:
* Expectations for Learning: Classroom expectations for student behavior, grading and homework policies can be found here.
* Learning Community Resources: Here is where you will find information about classroom activity for the current week.
* ESOL Resources: This page contains a list of helpful links and information, including links to ESOL resources.
Please feel free to contact me at [email protected] or (235) 138 9233 with any questions or comments.
I look forward to the privilege of working with your children!
Kind Regards,
Mrs. Kelley
