Behavior
- Arrive to class on time and ready to learn. Bring a notebook, pencil, and eraser to class every day. You will receive two textbooks- one to take home and one for classroom use, so there will be no need to transport your textbook to and from school. No students will be permitted to retrieve items from their locker after the start of class bell. Students who arrive late without a tardy slip will be issued two demerits.
- Your cooperation is expected during class. Creating a positive, respectful classroom environment requires everyone's participation- please avoid unnecessary conversations, and raise your hand before speaking. Treat others the way that you would like to be treated. Cell phone use is not permitted in the classroom. If a student is found using a cell phone during class time, two demerits will be issued and I will hold the cell phone for the remainder of the school day.
- If you must be absent, it is your responsibility to contact me regarding any notes or assignments you may have missed. Make up assignments must be completed with 48 hours in order to receive full credit.
- Please don’t be afraid to ask questions! There is no such thing as a “bad” question. If you need additional clarification regarding a classroom topic, it is likely that one or more of your classmates does, too.
Homework Policy
- Homework will be assigned Monday-Thursday each week and collected each Friday.
- With the exception of make-up work, no homework will be assigned over the weekend.
- Homework will be graded and returned with feedback during the following school week, and will account for 15% of your overall grade for this class. Each Monday, we will spend the first portion of the period going over selected homework problems.
- Late homework may be turned in for partial credit up to one week after its due date. After one week, no credit will be given for late homework. Two demerits will be issued for all homework assignments turned in late.
